This 12-page comic book was my final project for the Comic & Sequential Art class in college. The course inspired me to explore sequential art more seriously and played a key role in refining my creative workflow.

The Phantom Ranger

Synopsis: Two years ago, avid explorer Jameson Keys flew too close to the sun when he accidentally touched an ancient Aztec idol— releasing Mictlantecuhtli, the Aztec god of death. This vengeful deity cursed Keys for eternity, carving a skull into his face, but unknowingly giving him powers over darkness as well.

Now, Jameson Keys operates as a rogue detective in the rough mountain towns of Colorado, using his powers to sniff out outlaws and discover vital clues. When a rich client hires him to bring her kidnapped son back, this phantom ranger dives headfirst into an evil plot—one that seems all-too similar to what he faced in the jungle two years previous.
